Lui Tuck Yew

Lui Tuck Yew ( born August 16, 1961) is a politician in Singapore. He is a board member of the People's Action Party (PAP ), he is, among others, Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs.

Life

Lui attended the Anglo - Chinese School and Anglo - Chinese Junior College. Thanks to a Singapore Armed Forces Overseas Scholarship, he studied at the University of Cambridge Chemistry at Trinity College and graduated in 1983. 1994 he completed a Master of Arts in International Relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University in the United States. Lui Tuck Yew is married to Soo Fen. They have two daughters.

Policy

Lui was appointed in 2006 Minister of State for Education. In 2008 he was Senior Minister at the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts. A year later he was Deputy Minister of Information, Communications and the Arts and in 2009 was at the same time as a full member of the Cabinet. After the 2011 election Lui was Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs.
