Luibiskogel

The Luibiskogel (also called Loibiskogel ) is a double peak in Geigenkamm in the Ötztal Alps. The higher south summit measures while 3112 m. The north peak measured before 3090 m, after a landslide in 1999 but about 30 meters lower. The Luibiskogel is hard to see both the neighboring Pitztal and Oetztal and from the mountain reveals its whole size only from elevated vantage points.

Routes

This can be achieved the Luibiskogel on the following routes:

  • From the Pitztal of Piösmes on the unstaffed Luibisalm that Luibisscharte and the western part of Hauer Ferner,
  • From the Ötztal length of field on the Innerbergalm, the unstaffed Hauerseehütte and the Fang Glacier.

The last part of both increases in is identical, both require increases operating safety and climbing skills in the first degree. From the edge of Hauer Ferners southeast of the mountain you turn on marked route to the north- west, across scree slopes towards the steep side of the mountain, which can be reached on the northern edge of the boulder back. Now up on ribbons in easy climbing, the following markings. It is possible to secure at regular attached bolts. It finally reaches the existing part of loosely stacked plates south-east and by the broad ridge in easy climbing to the summit with summit cross and the summit book.

The Hauer Further, the path from the Pitztal is not a serious problem (anymore), but the increase from the Pitztal valley is quite long and lonely. In the way from the Ötztal Hauer Furthermore, in bare ice can cause problems, a bypass in the rubble next door but is then possible.
