Luigi Bettazzi

Luigi Bettazzi (* November 26, 1923 in Treviso, Italy ) is an Italian Roman Catholic bishop.

Life

Luigi Bettazzi was consecrated on August 4, 1946 priests.

On August 10, 1963 Pope Paul VI appointed him. auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Bologna, connected to the titular Thagaste. The episcopal ordination took place on October 4, 1963 by the principal consecrator Giacomo Cardinal Lercaro, the Archbishop of Bologna. On November 26, 1966, he was appointed Bishop of Ivrea. On February 20, 1999, Pope John Paul II accepted his resignation due to age.

Luigi Bettazzi is one of the last surviving participant / Council Fathers of the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965), during which he also signed the Catacombs.
