Luigi Bodio

Luigi Bodio ( born October 12, 1840 in Milan, † November 2, 1920 ) was an Italian statistician.

Life

Bodio doctorate in 1861 in Pisa and then traveled with the support of the government, for further training abroad. After his return he became in 1864 professor of economics at the royal pilot to Livorno, 1867-68 Professor at the Royal pilot in Milan and on for four years Professor of Statistics and Geography at the royal trade higher commercial school to Venice. As Pietro Maestri, the creator of the royal Italian Statistical Büreaus, 1872, died Bodio was appointed to his position as director of this office to Rome.

Works

From the large international statistical Bodio in 1876 published the international Statistique des caisses d' épargne. He also wrote: Saggio sul commercio esterno terrestre e marittimo del regno d' Italia ( Flor. 1865); Dei documenti Statistici del regno d' Italia (ibid. 1867); Dei Rapporti della statistica coll ' economia politica e altre colle scienze affini (ibid. 1869); also he gave in 1876 with Cesare Correnti, Paolo Boselli including the Archivio di statistica out.
