Luigi Cozzi

Luigi Cozzi ( born September 7, 1947 in Busto Arsizio ) is an Italian film director and screenwriter.

Life

Cozzi worked as a journalist ( for " Ciao 2001 ' ) and Translator fantastic and utopian novels for the publisher " Urania " and started for the film as a synchronous and an assistant editor. In 1969, he turned with small means the science fiction film Il tunnel sotto il modo and then was assistant director Dario Argento by, for which he also the 1973 TV movie Il vicono di casa staged. In 1975 he began a series of films that are often assigned to the fantastic genre, but also often suffered from the limitation of their budget. Cozzi used for the pseudonym Lewis Coates.

Throughout his life he remained the work of Argento's connected; Cozzi operates a movie store in Rome, which he named after a film Argento's " Profondo Rosso ". He is considered one of the best connoisseurs of the scene and takes care of the documentation of this range of Italian culture. In October 2011, he was awarded at the Sitges Film Festival with the Nosferatu Award for his life's work.
