Luigi Jacobini

Lodovico Jacobini ( born January 6, 1832 in Genzano di Roma, near Rome, † February 28, 1887 in Rome) was a cardinal and papal secretary of state.

Life

With 22 years Jacobini received after completing his education in the seminary of Albano on 23 September 1854, the ordination. Then Jacobini received early on the important post of Secretary of the Congregation of Oriental Rites. During the Vatican Council he was appointed by Pope Pius IX. appointed under-secretary. On 24 March 1874, he received the dignity of Titularerzbischofs of Thessaloniki in partibus and was sent on 27 March 1874 as papal nuncio to the court of Vienna.
