Luigi Poggi

Luigi Cardinal Poggi ( born November 25, 1917 in Piacenza, Italy; † 4, 2010 in Rome ) was a Vatican diplomat and cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church.

Life

Poggi studied at the Collegium Alberoni in Piacenza Catholic theology and philosophy. On 28 July 1940 he received the sacrament of Holy Orders. He was then a short time as chaplain of the parish church of San Francesco in Piacenza active and was still released in the same year to study at the Pontifical Athenaeum Apollinare in Rome, which he in 1944 awarded the degree of Doctor of Law. utr. completed.
