The Luiro [ lui̯rɔ ] is a river in Finnish Lapland. He is one of the main tributaries of the Kemi and has a length of 227 kilometers, the seventh longest river in Finland. The Luiro springs from the Luirojärvi Lake in Saariselkä Fjellgebiet. From there, it flows south through mostly uninhabited areas of the municipality of Sodankylä and unites about seven kilometers north of Pelkosenniemi with the Kitinen just before this in Kemi, Finland 's longest current flows.

To regulate the amount of water of Kemi, 1967, the headwaters of the Luiro was dammed to Lokka Reservoir, which is 417 km ² at maximum water level. On Lokka Reservoir is also a hydroelectric power plant.
