Luis Adolfo Siles Salinas

Luis Adolfo Siles Salinas ( born 1925 in La Paz, † 19 October 2005) was a Bolivian lawyer, politician and former president of Bolivia.

Life

Luis Adolfo Siles was dated 6 August 1966 to 27 April 1969 on the time of the presidency of the Air Force General René Barrientos Ortuño ( 1918-1969 ) Vice President of Bolivia. Both were elected in free presidential election on 3 March 1966, 62 % of the votes in Bolivia.

After the accidental death of Barrientos Ortuño Dr. Luis Adolfo Siles Salinas was the 49th President of Bolivia. His term lasted from April 27 to September 26, 1969, he lost his office by a military coup. New rulers of Bolivia was a three-man military junta under the supreme commander of the armed forces, General Alfredo Ovando Candia. The new cabinet consisted of left-wing intellectuals and professionals.

He was 1978-1987 President of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, a human rights organization, the Organization of American States ( OAS Organization of American States ).
