Luis Alcoriza

Luis Alcoriza de la Vega ( born September 5, 1918 in Badajoz, Spain, † December 3, 1992 in Cuernavaca, Mexico) was a Mexican film director and screenwriter of Spanish origin. He wrote the screenplays for over 80 films and directed about 20 itself

Biography

He was born the son of stage actors in Spain. During the Spanish Civil War, the family emigrated to Mexico, where he worked from 1940 in the movie. Initially, he worked primarily as an actor and portrayed as such, for example, Jesus Christ in Miguel Contreras Torres ' film biography of Mary Magdalene from the year 1946 and also under the direction of Contreras Torres, Reina de reinas: La Virgen María from the year 1949.

In 1946 Alcoriza to write screenplays. At this time he married actress Raquel Rojas (later Janet Alcoriza ), with whom he remained married until his death, and with whom he most of his screenplays authored in the subsequent period.
