Luis Antonio Hierro López

Luis Hierro López ( born January 6, 1947 in Montevideo) is a Uruguayan politician.

Hierro López was born as the son of the former President of the Chamber and former education and culture minister Luis Hierro Gambardella in Montevideo. He belongs to the Partido Colorado and sat first as a deputy from 1984 in the House of Representatives. There he was then from 1 March 1989 to 15 February 1990 Chairman of the Cámara de Representantes. Later, he headed for a few months, the Interior Ministry of Uruguay (2 February 1998 to 9 October 1998). Finally, he held the office of President of the Senate from 1 March 2000 to 15 February 2005, was so Vice President of Uruguay.
