Luís Carlos Patraquim

Luís Carlos Patraquim ( born March 26, 1953 in Lourenço Marques, Mozambique ) is a Mozambican poet, drama writer and journalist.

Biography

He worked as a journalist for the magazine A Voz de Moçambique, but had to flee to Sweden in 1973. After the independence of Mozambique in 1975, he returned to his country, where he worked for the magazine A Tribuna. After that, he was a founding member of the news agency Agência de Informação de Moçambique (AIM ) under the direction of Mia Couto.

From 1977 to 1986 Patraquim worked as a screenwriter in the Instituto Nacional de Cinema de Moçambique (INC ) as well as editor of the film magazine Kuxa Kanema.

Together with Calane da Silva and Gulamo Khan, he headed between 1984 and 1986, the Gazeta de Artes e Letras in the journal pace.

Since 1986 he lives in Portugal.

He works for the Mozambican and Portuguese press, writes screenplays and plays.

He is editor of the journal Lusografias.
