LuK Challenge Chrono

The LuK Challenge was a pair of time trial, which was held annually until 2006 in late July or early August in Bühl.

The precursor event of the cycling race existed since 1993; at that time still under the name Telekom Grand Prix, from 1996 to 2003 was the event LuK Cup and was a road race. As of 2004, it was held as LuK Challenge again as a couple time trials.

The LuK Challenge was part of the UCI Europe Tour and was rated category 1.1. Due to the international status of the race was also regarded as the unofficial world championship time trial pair. Many riders of the Tour de France took the host to show up again after the tour of the home crowd. The LuK Challenge was funded mainly by the automotive supplier LuK, which also supports the cycling fanatic Didi Senft.

In autumn 2006 the main sponsor LuK announced after numerous doping cases in cycling that he ended his involvement.
