Lukas Haas

Lukas Haas ( born April 16, 1976 in West Hollywood, California) is an American actor.

Life and achievements

Haas, son of the Texan screenwriter Emily Tracy and the German artist Berthold Haas debuted at the side of Jane Alexander and William Devane in the film drama The Last Testament ( 1983). In the thriller Witness (1985 ) he played the little boy Samuel Lapp, who witnesses a murder and is by John Book ( Harrison Ford) is protected. For this role he was nominated in 1986 for the Young Artist Award. The Young Artist Award he won for his roles in the films A Place at the Table (1987) and The Fantastic Journey into the Hereafter ( 1988), for the second film, he was also nominated for a Saturn Award in 1990.

For his role in the thriller Music Box - The Whole Truth ( 1989) by Constantin Costa -Gavras, in the Haas starred with Jessica Lange, in 1990 he was again nominated for the Young Artist Award. Another nomination for this award was for the role in the film drama Rambling Rose ( 1991), in which he appeared alongside Laura Dern, Robert Duvall and Diane Ladd. For his role in the TV movie In the Shadow of Death ( 1991), he won the Young Artist Award.

Haas played in the comedy Leap of Faith (1992 ) the Role of the disabled Boyd, the faith healer Jonas Nightengale of (Steve Martin) could heal. For his role in the comedy Mars Attacks! (1996 ) Haas was nominated in 1997 for the Saturn Award. In 1999 he received a prize of HUF as a future star. Lauderdale International Film Festival.
