Lukas Sinkiewicz [ ɕiɲ'kjɛvitʃ ] (born 9 October 1985 in Tychy ) is a German footballer of Polish origin.

Career

Sinkiewicz came up with three and a half years after Germany and started in 1990 with the football matches in the Rhine river at FC Flerzheim based there. After only one year, he moved within the city to VfL Rhine river, where he remained until 1993. He went to Mountain Home to the total school and reached there the high-school diploma. He played football in Bergheim at the 1 FC Quad -Ichendorf. In this club he remained for three more years.

In 1996 he was player at FC Cologne 1. He went through there the youth teams, and came in the 2003/04 season as a central defender for his first four missions in the first team. He was also a member of the U-21 national team.

He was appointed national coach Jürgen Klinsmann on 23 August 2005 for the first time in the cadre of senior team and made on 3 September 2005, the 0-2 defeat against Slovakia in Bratislava his first international match. In the following match against South Africa at the Weser Stadium on September 7, 2005, he played in the initial formation of the national team.

His contract with the 1st FC Cologne extended in January 2006 ahead until the end of season 2008/09. For a year, the new contract also had in the Second Bundesliga validity. In the U-21 European Championship match against Portugal on May 28, 2006 Sinkiewicz suffered a tear of the anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus damage in his right knee. He was characterized by the end of the year.

His comeback in the game gave Sinkiewicz on January 21, 2007, compared to FC Augsburg and has since been team captain of the 1st FC Cologne. At this time he was employed as a defensive midfielder. In summer 2007, he moved to Bundesliga side Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

For the season 2010/11 he moved to second division side FC Augsburg, in which he signed a contract until 2011. Here he played after a knee injury only in the last ten games of a role in the promotion battle. After the rise of Swabia in the Bundesliga Sinkiewicz joined the 2011/12 season to VfL Bochum, where he was awarded a three -year contract.

Private

Sinkiewicz is a cousin of Michael Gardawski who currently plays football at MSV Duisburg.

Zdzisław Sinkiewicz, father of Luke, was also a footballer, while active in the Polish second division. He died at the age of only 38 years after collapsing while jogging in Bergheim.
