Lukas Wilaschek

Luke Wilaschek ( born April 30, 1981 in Katowice, Poland ) is a retired German boxer Upper Silesian origin. Wilaschek came with his family in the 1980s as ethnic German repatriates in the Federal Republic of Germany.

Amateur

As an amateur, he completed 130 fights with 115 victories. He boxed in the boxing Bundesliga Bayer 04 Leverkusen and won the 2000 German champions title. At the European Championships Cadet (U -17) in 1997 in Bitola, he took a second place. Also in the senior, he was a two-time European Vice Champion: 2002 in Perm and 2004 in Pula, where he defeated the Russian Olympic champion Gaidarbek Gaidarbekow in the final.

He also took 2004 for Germany in the Olympics in part, however, different in the second round of the tournament off after one defeat against the Ukrainian Oleg Mashkin.

Professional career

A little later Wilaschek joined the professional camp. He signed a contract with Spotlight Boxing and was trained by Michael Timm. His professional debut took place on 18 September 2004. In 2007 he won the International German Championship at super middleweight. In his 23 fight he suffered on 9 December 2008 in Sölden against Robert Stieglitz his first defeat, he lost over twelve rounds on points.

In April 2009, a cerebral hemorrhage was found at him after a training session, which is why he ended his active career at the age of 28 years.
