Łukasz Kubot

Łukasz Kubot ( born May 16, 1982 in Boleslawiec, Lower Silesia ) is a Polish tennis player.

Career

Kubot in 2002 tennis player in the season. Already this season, get him his first success in Futures and Challenger tournaments in doubles. He also got a wild card into the main draw of the ATP tournament in Sopot, where he however failed in the very first round.

In 2004 he received again in Sopot for both the single and doubles competition for the wild card. In the individual he was able to defeat the set of four Russian Igor Andreev in the first round. He also failed to qualify at Wimbledon at the Hungarian Gergely Kisgyörgy page the first time for a Grand Slam tournament. Again, he scored the second round of reaching a moderate success, where he failed, however, to Bob and Mike Bryan.

As of the 2006 season took Kubot in the individual as in the double regularly to höherklassigen ATP tournaments in which he but mostly failed in the early rounds. He reached the third round at the U.S. Open in 2006 in singles.

2007 Kubot specialized more and more on the double, which is reflected in this year included in the participation of all four Grand Slams. He was especially successful at the French Open and the Australian Open and reached the second round in both tournaments. In addition, he succeeded in April at the side of the Austrian Oliver Marach in the tournament in Casablanca for the first time the collection in a final of a higher class tournament. There, however, they lost the Swede Simon Aspelin and Paul Hanley of Australia just in the match tie-break. The Croats Lovro Zovko him also still managed the final of the Grand Prix de Tennis de Lyon, which he could not win, however. During this season he reached the 42nd place its highest ever in the double world rankings.

The 2008 season proved to be less successful. Kubot had again mainly Challenger Tournaments contest and reached only the main rounds of the French Open with Zovko and Wimbledon with the South African Rik de Voest in which he, however, failed in the second or first round. As a result, he also fell in the rankings again until the 92nd place in August.

In the 2009 season, Kubot did get back together with Marach and celebrated with the Austrians, the greatest successes of his career. At the beginning of the season they got to the finals of the ATP 500 tournament in Acapulco and reached the semifinals of the Australian Open. On the way, they switched among other things, the top-seeded pairing of Daniel Nestor and Nenad Zimonjic. In addition, they won the tournament in Casablanca, what the first tournament success Kubots on the ATP Tour represented, as well as the Serbia Open in Belgrade. Then he put in the individual competition the finals after he benefited as a lucky loser from a shoulder injury Steve Darcis and so moved into the main draw. He was the first pole since Wojtek Fibak 1983 in a single tournament final of the ATP, but was defeated by Novak Djokovic in straight sets Serbs. In November their first success came at a hard court tournament in the BA Tennis Trophy in Vienna. In the wake of these successes Kubot reached on November 2 with rank 11 his highest ever world ranking in doubles, as well as with rank 108 in singles.

At the first Grand Slam tournament of the 2010 season, the Australian Open, he succeeded for the first time in his career, the first knockout round one singles at a Grand Slam tournament. In February, he reached both in double or in specific the final at the Brasil Open, but failed in two finals.

On the side of Robert Lindstedt he succeeded in 2014 by winning the doubles competition at the Australian Open, the greatest success of his career.
