Luke Saville

Luke Saville (born 1 February 1994 Barmera, Riverland ) is an Australian tennis player. He won in his junior career so far the tournaments at Wimbledon in 2011 and the Australian Open in 2012. Previously he managed an ITF Futures tournament victory.

Career

Junior Tennis

Saville began at the age of 5 years, with tennis and took in February 2007, in his first ITF tournament. A stir he made first time in June 2011, when he won the junior tournament at Wimbledon with a 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 final win against Liam Broady for themselves. At the Australian Open in 2012, he celebrated his second Grand Slam victory, after defeating Filip Peliwo in the final with 6:3, 5:7, 6:4. He is currently first place in the Junior World Ranking.

Starts on the ITF and ATP Tour

On Future - level Saville reached in Bangkok in May 2012 for the first time, a final and won that in three sets against Antoine Escoffier. He got so far three times a wildcard for the qualification for the Australian Open, but different every time in the first round. In 2012 he also took part in the qualifications of ATP tournaments in Brisbane and Sydney. He reached the second round in Brisbane, where he clearly defeated Tatsuma Ito. His Grand Slam debut was also in 2012 at the Australian Open, when he was allowed to participate in parallel with the junior individual competition also in the doubles competition of the men due to a wildcard. He did not make it past the first round.
