Lukovany

Lukovany ( German Lukowan ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located seven kilometers south-west of Rosice and belongs to Okres Brno- venkov.

Geography

Lukovany located in the highlands Bobravská. The village is situated at the northeastern foot of Kamenný vrch (436 m) in the source basin of the creek Lukovanský creek. To the north runs the railway line Střelice - Okříšky, there is also the station Vysoke Popovice.

Neighboring towns are Vysoke Popovice, Pribram na Moravě and Příbramský Mlýn in the north, Zakřany in the northeast, Horni colony and Zbysov in the east, Dul Anna, Mašinka, Padochov, Zaraženský Dvůr and Oslavany the southeast, Nová Ves and Čučice in the south, Ketkovice in the west and Sudice and Rapotice in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1269 as Czernin Popovice his property in Studyně sold the Cistercian monastery " Vallis S. Mariae " in Oslavany. The brothers Zdislav and Arnost of Lochwan recorded as witnesses. The village was the seat of the Lords of Lochwan detectable until the end of the 15th century. Other owners of the brothers Pertold, Vilém and Čeněk Leipa that Lukovany 1542 sold to Jan Bula of Bořitov included. Until 1768 the church of Lukovany was a filial church of the parish Rossitzer and then the new parish was assigned in Popovice. In 1790 lived in the 39 houses of the village of 235 people. After the abolition of patrimonial Lukovany formed in 1850 a part of the community Popovice in the Brno district. 1874 formed its own municipality. The road to Zakřany was 1897. In 1900 the village had 678 inhabitants and consisted of 87 houses. The population consisted entirely of Catholic Czechs. In 1921, the municipality was assigned to the Okres Brno- venkov. Since 1948 Lukovany belonged to Okres Rosice. After the abolition of Okres Rosice Lukovany came in 1961 Okres Brno- venkov back. Since 2004, the municipality performs a coat of arms and banners.

Attractions

  • Church of Sts. Wenzel, they originated before 1300 in the Romanesque style. Your current baroque form with massive onion dome got the building for conversions in 1715 and in 1747. Between 2000 and 2002, the roof and the façade were restored.

  • Cemetery wall, the oldest parts date from the beginning of the 14th century.
