Lumbrein

Lumbrein ( [ lʊmbʁɛɪ̯n ]? / I ) until December 31, 2012, a municipality in the district of Val Lumnezia Surselva the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland. The village is located around 15 km from Ilanz. The hamlet on the south side of Glenner glad Surin and Silgin. On January 1, 2013, it merged with the municipalities Cumbel, cutlasses, Morissen, Suraua, Vignogn, Vella and Vrin the new community Lumnezia. More common surname in Lumbrein Capaul.

History

Respectively the name Lumbrein. Lamarine appears already in the year 830 in the imperial land register. The oldest settlement in the area of the village is around 1500 BC inhabited hilltop village Crestaulta the hamlet of Surin. On Glenner at Silgin the Alps fish Lumare operated since about 2008.

1961 south-west of Lumbrein in Sietschen a stele with human figures found. Because of comparable stelae from northern Italy it is dated to the Late Neolithic by Italian researchers.
