Lup

Lumbu (also Baloumbou and Ilumbu ) is a Bantu language and is spoken by about 22,720 people in Gabon and the Republic of Congo ( census 2000).

It is widespread in Gabon in the province of Nyanga Nyanga and Bangua between the rivers on the border with the Republic of Congo with about 19,700 speakers and in the Republic of Congo in the region Niari in the district Kibangou on the border with Gabon with about 3020 speakers.

Lumbu is written in the Latin script.

Classification

Lumbu is a Northwest Bantu language and is part of the Sira Group, which is classified as Guthrie Zone B40.
