Lumidee

Lumidee ( born August 24, 1984 in New York; civil Lumidee Cedeño ) is an American hip hop and R & B musician Latino of any race.

Career

It is one of five children. After her father's death in 1995, she grew up with her grandparents in New York's Spanish Harlem.

Lumidee began already during school time as rapper and songwriter in the style of Salt'N'Pepa, Mary J. Blige, Lauryn Hill, Missy Elliott and MC Lyte and met here on DJ Tedsmooth with which they own record label, Straight Face Records founded. In 2003, the label was acquired by Universal Records.

Lumidee became famous through the summer hit of 2003, Never Leave You (Uh Ooh Uh Ooh! ), She created in collaboration with DJ Tedsmooth and especially in a remix version with Busta Rhymes and Fabolous had international success.

2005 was the reggaeton track Sientelo of Speedy Lumidee and Culcha Candela in the charts of several European countries.

Today Lumidee works with many American and German producers as a singer -songwriter, including Kool Savas, Caput, Melbeatz and DJ Tomekk.

In 2006, she, together with the World Cup mascot Goleo the World Cup song Dance! released a cover version of the hit I Wanna Dance with Somebody by Whitney Houston.
