Luna-Glob

Luna 25 (formerly Luna - Glob, Russian Луна - Глоб ) is a planned Russian spacecraft to explore the Moon. According to current plans, the 2,200 -pound spacecraft to be launched in 2015 by a Soyuz rocket from the Baikonur Wostotschnyj to the moon and settle a land station.

The plans for a new Russian lunar probe were first published in 1997, but at that time could not be addressed due to financing difficulties in space. Only in the new, designed for the years 2006-2015 space program funds for the spacecraft were provided. The plans have been amended several times, besides, also originally intended penetrators were removed.
