Lund string model

The Lund string model is a phenomenological model of hadronization in particle physics. In the model, all are treated as field lines except the highest-energy gluons. Due to the gluon self-interaction of the individual field lines attract and form a swatch hose. The strings should not be confused with the substantially different strings from the string theory.

The fragmentation of these strings is one of the parton fragmentation models that in the event generators PYTHIA and jet set and those of the University of California, Los Angeles used. One of the things that the model describes very well the fact is that a number of other hadrons arises between two quarks apart flying.
