Lüneburg–Soltau Light Railway

The little train Lüneburg- Soltau GmbH was founded on 15 February 1911 by the Kingdom of Prussia, the Province of Hanover, the district of Lüneburg and the district of Soltau. It opened on June 13, 1913 their only route from Lüneburg to Soltau.

The 57 km long standard gauge " mountain coaster" led from Lüneburg right through the Lüneburg Heath on Amelinghausen - Sottorf and Hützel. This led a small railway Winsen - Evendorf - Hützel ( " Luhebahn "). Finally, the track reached the node Soltau.

The railway company took over in 1920, the management of the railway line Soltau- New Churches, for which they also provided the vehicles and staff.
