Luo Jianming

Luo Jianming (Chinese罗建明/罗建明, Pinyin Luo Jianming; born November 6, 1969 in Foshan, Guangdong Province) is a former Chinese weightlifter. He was medalist at Olympic Games and World Championships.

Career

Luo Jianming began in 1982 at the Nanhai sports school with the weight lifting. Due to its good progress, he was accepted in 1985 in the province of Guangdong selection and 1989 in the Chinese national team of weightlifters.

In 1989, its first use in an international championship took place at the Junior World Championships in Fort Lauderdale / Florida. He started there in the bantamweight and finished with a duel capacity of 267.5 kg ( 122.5 to 145 ) 3rd place behind the South Koreans Chun Byung- kwan, 275 kg ( 120-155 ) and Albert Nasibulin from the Soviet Union, on 270 kg ( 120-155 ) came. In tearing he was doing with 122.5 kg Junior World Champion.

1990 occupied Luo Jianming at the Asian Games in Beijing bantamweight behind Chun Byung- kwan and his compatriot Liu Shoubin the 3rd place. He occupied the same space at the World Championships in Budapest in 1990. There he had to start at featherweight but from team tactical reasons. His power was in Budapest 287.5 kg ( 130 to 157.5 ). World champion Nikolai Peschalow from Bulgaria, to 297.5 kg ( 127.5 to 170 ) came before Kim Yong- Su of North Korea, scored 295 kg ( 135-160 ).

At the 1991 World Championships in Donaueschingen Luo Jianming was back in the bantamweight at the start. He reached there in a duel 277.5 kg ( 130 to 147.5 ) and finished with this performance behind Chun Byung- kwan, 295 kg ( 130-165 ) and Liu Shoubin, 292.5 kg ( 135 to 157.5 ) again 3rd place.

At the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona Luo Jianming completed his last assignment at an international championship. As with all previous championships, he also managed in Barcelona in the bantamweight title with 277.5 kg ( 125 to 152.5 ) 3rd place and thus won the Olympic bronze medal. Before him only his old rival Chun Byung- kwan placed with 287.5 kg ( 132.5 to 155 ) and Liu Shoubin, 277.5 kg ( 130 to 147.5 ).
