Luostarinmäki

The Craft Museum of Luostarinmäki (Finnish Luostarinmäen käsityöläismuseo, Swedish Hantverksmuseet på monastery jaws) is an open air museum in the second district of Turku, Finland. The museum consists of 18 buildings from the 18th and early 19th century which are preserved at their original location. The area of the museum was the largest area, which was in 1827 not destroyed by a great fire. When the museum was opened in 1940, it was the only preserved ancient residential area in Turku. Since the time of the great fire, no structural changes were made. On modernization inside the houses was also omitted, so that the museum gives a realistic impression of the conditions of life in the early 19th century.

In the museum of contemporary arts and crafts products are sold.
