Luras

Lura ( Sardinian: Lura, gallurese: Lurisi ) is a municipality with 2606 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Olbia- Tempio, in the historical region of Gallura. Lura is over 500 meters ü.dA and is about 11 km from Tempio Pausania and 38 km from Olbia.

The name

The name comes from the Latin Lura lura what it should mean sack because the rocks around remember such. The village lies on a plateau full of boulders, in the barest area of Gallura. History
