Luria isabella
Luria is a genus of the family of cowries ( Cypraeidae ).
Features
All species have well-trained, very fine teeth and housing a nearly opaque black coat. Only the shell of L. cinerea is slightly different, it is translucent and pale in color. The species-specific sizes vary between 15 mm (L. controversa, atriceps f ) and 56 mm (L. pulchra ).
Occurrence
The species of this genus have spread worldwide. L. lurida is located almost on the entire western coast of Africa and in the Mediterranean. L. cinerea also in the Atlantic Ocean, on the east coasts of Central and South America. The distribution of L. isabella and L. controversa extends from the Indian Ocean to the Pacific. L. isabellamexicana is found on the western coasts of Mexico and Central America. L. tessellata before Hawaii, Taiwan and the Philippines.
Controversy
Whether L. controversa is a separate species or just a subspecies, is considered from author to author different. FA signs detects a valid type, Felix Lorenz leads controversa as a subspecies of L. isabella
