Lus-la-Croix-Haute

Lus- la- Croix-Haute, is a commune with 521 inhabitants ( 1 January 2011) in the department of Drôme. It belongs to the district, the, to Canton Châtillon -en- Diois and community association Diois.

Geography

The municipality of Lus- la -Croix -Haute is located approximately 32 kilometers northwest of Gap and about 60 kilometers south of Grenoble in the extreme east of the Drôme Provençale on the border with the Isère and Hautes -Alpes, which is already in the neighboring region of Provence- Alpes -Côte d' Azur is located. Neighboring communities of Lus- la -Croix -Haute are:

  • Tréminis in the north,
  • Saint- Disdier in the Northeast,
  • Agnières -en- Dévoluy in the east,
  • La cluse in the southeast,
  • Saint -Julien -en- Beauchene in the south,
  • Glandage in the west and
  • Saint- Maurice -en- Trièves in the northwest.

It is located on 1024 m above sea community in the Dauphiné Alps, the headwaters of the Whitewater River Buëch unite (here still called Grand Buëch ). With the ski Lus- La Jarjatte the community is heavily developed. The municipality is part of the Vercors Natural Regional Park.

Transport links

Due to the rock formation Lus- la -Croix -Haute is traffic- developed only in the north-south direction. To the north it the Col de la Croix -Haute must be overcome. The town lies on the railway line from Grenoble to Gap and has its own train station. The road is about the department of road D1075, runs from Grenoble to Sisteron, settled.
