Lusíada University

The University Lusíada (Portuguese: Universidade Lusíada ) is a private university founded in Lisbon on 28 June 1986 zeitweilih around 12,000 students and 800 academic staff. The namesake of the University are the Lusiads.

Shortly after its founding, the University opened offices in Porto and Vila Nova de Famalicão and now offers a total of 46 undergraduate and 16 graduate programs.

In Angola, there is a Universidade Lusíada in Luanda, with offices in Cabinda and Benguela. While this maintains connection with the Portuguese "mother", but is this legally, economically and scientifically independent.

The most famous teachers of the university is José Manuel Durão Barroso, the director of the department of international relations was in 1980. Current President of the University is Diamantino Durão.

In recent years, particularly since 2012, the number of students has declined dramatically in some programs by about 80 %.
