Lusigny

Lusigny is a commune with 1707 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Allier in the Auvergne region; it belongs to the administrative district Moulins and canton Chevagnes.

Geography

The municipality is located in the Sologne Bourbonnais, about 12 kilometers east of the conurbation of Moulins. Neighboring communities of Lusigny are:

  • Chevagnes in the northeast and east,
  • Thiel -sur- Acolin in the southeast,
  • Montbeugny in the south,
  • Yzeure in the west and
  • Chezy in the northwest and north.

The village lies on the right bank of the river ozone, the municipality is also traversed the east by the river Huzarde, in the western part stems from the Abron - all the rivers draining into the Acolin. Striking at the surrounding landscape are the many small ponds, which include most rivers have been dammed up. One of the ponds is also situated in the local area and simply called l' Etang.
