Lutite

Lutit (Latin lutum = mud ) is a clastic sedimentary rock with a particle size smaller than 0.063 mm. A Lutit corresponds to rocks that are attributable to the siltstones or mudstones. The term Lutit is common especially in the classification of clastic limestones, in which the grain- size-dependent names are otherwise used siltstone or mudstone are not useful.
