Lutz jump

The Lutz, named after the Austrian Alois Lutz (1898-1918), is a jump in figure skating. It can be easy to jump double, triple or quadruple. Alois Lutz showed the jump for the first time in 1913 at the competition.

Implementation

To perform a Lutz takes the runner -up and backward shifts the weight to the left leg. The left arm is forward in front of the body and the rights (both parallel to the ice) is approximately in the direction of travel. Now the right skate stands obliquely to the right behind the ice and at the same time jumped from the left leg (from the outboard edge, otherwise the jump is counted as a flip, which has a smaller base value). The rotation is achieved by abruptly pulls her arms close to your body, the right is a bit slower, because it has the longer path and a small bow makes. In addition, the upper body to rotate contributes by slightly vordreht including head.

History

The first figure skater who showed a triple Lutz in competition, Donald Jackson was at the World Cup 1962, the first figure skater was Denise Biellmann 1978. First time a quadruple Lutz in competition on 16 September 2011 by Brandon Mroz ( USA) was stood.
