Lutzerath

Lutzerath is a municipality in the district Cochem-Zell, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality elms. Lutzerath is a nationally recognized resort and recognized as a basic center in accordance with state planning.

Geography

Lutzerath lies in the volcanic Eifel region between the of Bad Bert Rich and the tourist down on a ridge (435 m) surrounded by valleys, forests and meadows. In the vicinity there are crater lakes.

Still belongs to the district of Driesch and the living spaces cabin Floeder, Altmühle, Neumühlestrasse, Waldhaus Lutzerath and Waldhof to Lutzerath.

History

The village was first mentioned in 1051 and has long been one Kurtrier. In 1726 a main post office was furnished with a horse-changing station in Lutzerath. After the occupation of the left bank of the Rhine 1794/96 by French revolutionary troops in 1798 was the Canton Lutzerath that belonged to the Rhine-Moselle department. Due to the decisions of the Congress of Vienna, the place came in 1815 with the Kingdom of Prussia. 1817 Lutzerath seat of the mayor's office in the district of Cochem in the Region of Koblenz, 1927, from the mayor's office, the Office Lutzerath. Since 1946 it has been part of Rhineland- Palatinate then newly founded.
