Luua

Luua ( German Ludenhof ) is a village (Estonian küla ) in the Estonian county Jõgeva. It belongs to the rural community Palamuse. The village has 322 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2007).

The town was formed in the Middle Ages under the name Pakuvere to the Baltic German manor house. 1519 the manor was the property of the noble family of Luden, from which the present name of the town derives. The late baroque mansion obtained comes from 1736th It is with his 14-hectare park, a romantic forest and the Avenue of the most beautiful Gutshäuserensembles in Estonia. In the 17th century the castle passed into the possession of the family of Stroemfeld and fell in 1831 to the family of Oettingen. From the mansion an oak -lined avenue leads to the lake Porssa. After the Second World War, a forestry school was established in September 1948 in the mansion. She also hosts the forestry museum. In the 1950s, the original one-story mansion was increased by a further floor.
