Luvigny
Luvigny is a commune with 114 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Vosges in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the Canton of Raon- l'Étape in the arrondissement of Saint- Dié -des-Vosges and is a member of the department of inter- municipal association ( Communauté de communes ) Vallée de la Plaine.
Geography
Neighboring communities of Luvigny are Raon -sur -Plaine in the Northeast, Grand Fontaine in the east, the south and Vexaincourt Bionville in the West.
History
A first mention dates back to 1656, at that time, the settlement belonged to the principality of Salm. The boundaries of the municipality covers two-thirds of Bois Sauvage, which it shares with Allarmont. Translated that means as much as the wild forest catches. The river la Plaine forms the northwestern boundary of the municipality and at the same time the department limit.
