Luwu is an administrative district ( kabupaten ) of the Indonesian province of South Sulawesi. Luwu has an area of ​​3098.97 km ². Main place since 2006 Belopa, before that it was the capital Palopo. The inhabitants are mostly Bugis.

History

The name goes back to the Kingdom Luwu (also Luwuq or Wareq ), the oldest kingdom in South Sulawesi.
