The Luxor Airport is an international airport in Luxor, Egypt. It is located about five kilometers east of the city. The airport is mainly served by charter flights and mostly used for tourists because of its proximity to the Nile and to the tourist town of Hurghada. About 2 million passengers are handled annually.

Generally

The Luxor Airport has one terminal and five gates. It is operated by the Egyptian Airports Company. The airport corresponds to many a European standard and has among other things, eight check- in counters, a post office, a bank, as well as restaurants. There are 21 air parking ( docks), a Boeing 757 can be accommodated. The Runway 02 /20 is 3000 meters long and can be flown by IFR.

Airlines and destinations

Charter traffic plays the biggest role in Luxor. European airlines such as Air Berlin and Austrian maintain a regular flight operations. In addition, there are some airlines that operate in the Middle East.
