Luza, Luzsky District, Kirov Oblast

Lusa (Russian Луза ) is a town in Kirov Oblast (Russia) with 11,260 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).

Geography

The city is located about 300 km northwest of the Oblasthauptstadt Kirov at the Lusa, a right tributary of the river source Jug of the Northern Dvina.

Lusa is the administrative center of the homonymous Rajons.

History

Lusa was built in place of a well-known since the 17th century as a settlement station settlement in the construction of the railway line Vyatka Kotlas in 1899 and received city rights in 1944.
