Luzzu

As Luzzus refers to the typical fishing boats in Malta. For another, very similar boat to use the name or Dghajsa dhajsa.

They are traditionally decorated at the bow with eyes that represent either the Eye of Horus or the Eye of Osiris, the Egyptian god of the dead. These are designed to protect the fishermen from danger. However, the boats usually wear Christian names.

They are usually painted very colorful and a popular photo opportunity for many tourists. If they were previously equipped with sails, they are now powered by diesel engines. They were regarded as very stable and seaworthy in all weather conditions.
