Lyle Reifsnider

Lyle Reifsnider Baldwin ( born August 11, 1901 in Chicago, Illinois, † December 9, 1980 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American production designer, who was nominated once for an Oscar.

Life

Reifsnider began his career as a prop in the film industry in Hollywood in 1942 in the film Romance Kings Row by Sam Wood with Ann Sheridan, Robert Cummings and Ronald Reagan. In the following years he worked until 1966 at the scenic features of 45 films.

For 1948, directed by Vincent Sherman cloak-and -dagger film The Love Adventures of Don Juan ( Adventures of Don Juan ) with Errol Flynn, Viveca Lindfors and Robert Douglas was Reifsnider at the Academy Awards in 1950 along with Edward Carrere best for an Oscar for the Design nominated in a color film.

Known more movies with his scene images were The Rebel ( The Flame and the Arrow, 1950) by Jacques Tourneur with Burt Lancaster, Virginia Mayo and Robert Douglas, Lullaby of Broadway ( 1951) by David Butler with Doris Day, Gene Nelson and Szöke Szakall and the horror film the House of Wax ( House of Wax, 1953) by André De Toth with Vincent Price, Paul Cavanagh and Roy Roberts.
