Lyman A. Mills

Lyman Allen Mills (* February 25, 1841 in Middletown, Connecticut, † February 21, 1929 in Dunedin, Florida ) was an American politician. Between 1899 and 1901 he was Deputy Governor of the State of Connecticut.

Career

About the youth and education of Lyman Mills nothing is handed down. He lived in what is now Middlefield in Middlesex County, where he worked in crafts and livestock. Politically, he joined the Republican Party. In 1895 he sat as an MP in the House of Representatives from Connecticut. He was also a member of the Association of Sons of the American Revolution.

In 1898, Mills was elected to the side of George E. Lounsbury Vice Governor of Connecticut. This post he held 1899-1901. Yet he was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate. He died on 21 February 1929 in Dunedin, and was buried in his home town of Middlefield.
