Lyman T. Tingier

Lyman Twining Tingier ( born June 9, 1862 in Webster, Worcester County, Massachusetts, † 1920) was an American politician. Between 1913 and 1915 he was Deputy Governor of the State of Connecticut.

Career

Lyman Tingier was born on 9 June 1862 as a son of Seymour Allen Tingier and Sarah Jane Twining in Webster. Later he lived in Rockville ( Connecticut ). He must have studied law and worked as a lawyer and in the banking industry, where he was director of a bank. Politically, he joined the Democratic Party. In July 1896 he was a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in Chicago in part, was first nominated on the William Jennings Bryan as their presidential candidate. Between 1909 and 1912 he sat as an MP in the House of Representatives from Connecticut. Subsequently, he was from 1912 to 1914 mayor of Rockville.

In 1912 Tingier was elected to the side of Simeon Eben Baldwin for Lieutenant Governor of Connecticut. This post he held 1913-1915. Yet he was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate. In 1914 he ran unsuccessfully for the governorship. After that, he is no longer politically have appeared.
