Lyn Collins

Gloria Lavern " Lyn " Collins ( born June 12, 1948 in Abilene, Texas, USA; † 13 March 2005 in Los Angeles, USA) was an American soul singer.

Their single The Female Preacher reached in the 1970s No. 9 on the Billboard charts in the U.S. and became an anthem for the burgeoning women's movement. Other singles were Momma Feel Good, Rock Me Again & Again & Again & Again & Again & Again, Take Me Just As I Am, and How Long Can I Keep It Up. The single Think ( about it ) from the eponymous album from 1972 is due to the so-called 5 Breaks, until today as a sampling base for hip hop and Hip House.

Collins died unexpectedly at the age of 56 years by seconds cardiac death due to cardiac arrhythmias.
