Lynden Evans

Lynden Evans ( born June 28, 1858 in La Salle, LaSalle County, Illinois, † May 6, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois ) was an American politician. Between 1911 and 1913 he represented the state of Illinois in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Lynden Evans attended the public schools of his home and thereafter until 1882, the Knox College in Galesburg. After that, he worked for some time as a teacher. After a subsequent law degree in 1885 and its recent approval as a lawyer in Chicago, he began to work in this profession. In the years 1907 and 1908 he held at the John Marshall Law School lectures on company law ( Corporation Law ). Politically, he joined the Democratic Party.

In the congressional elections of 1910, Evans was the ninth constituency of Illinois in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Henry Sherman Boutell Republican on March 4, 1911. Since he has not been confirmed in 1912, he was able to complete only one term in Congress until March 3, 1913. After the end of his time in the U.S. House of Representatives Evans practiced as a lawyer again. He died on May 6, 1926 in Chicago, where he was also buried.
