Lynn Ahrens

Lynn Ahrens ( born October 1, 1948) is an American musical theater - poet, who frequently works with Stephen Flaherty. They have become known by the piece Once on This Iceland, which was nominated for eight Tony Awards, and Ragtime, which was nominated for eleven Tony Awards and won the Best Original Score. They also worked together on the songs for the film Anastasia. Lynn Ahrens was also in the late seventies and early eighties popular by their musical work on the animated television series Schoolhouse Rock and the PSA 's on ABC and Captain Kangaroo on CBS.

She is a graduate of Syracuse University. She learned Stephen Flaherty in a 1982 BMI workshop, and began in 1983 to work with him.
