Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge

The Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge is a free-swinging rope bridge for pedestrians within the Lynn Canyon Park in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It is located approximately 50 meters ( 166 feet) above the valley floor and was built in 1912 by private sources. With an overall length of 48 meters, it spans the Lynn Creek. It is made in the earth anchored steel cables and wood planks.

The free walk-in bridge, surrounded by 249 hectares ( 616 acres) of lush rainforest combines the extensive hiking trails on both sides of the canyon and is part of the Baden -Powell Trail, which was named after the founder of the worldwide Scouting, Lord Baden -Powell, named. In earlier times ten cents ( CAD) were collected tolls that benefited the preservation of the bridge condition.

Not far from the bridge, there is a picnic area and the existing since 1971 Lynn Canyon Ecology Centre. Bridge and Park are frequented by families, school groups, hikers and sightseers.

From the bridge upriver walk the so-called 30 Foot Pool can be achieved, the emerald green, crystal clear, cold water is a very popular attraction for visitors, especially in the summer after about ten minutes. Longer trails lead among other things to the northern Lynn Headwaters Regional Park and the southern Inter River Park and the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve eastern. The latter was formerly known as the Seyour Demonstration Forest known.
