Lynn Flewelling

Lynn Flewelling ( born October 20, 1958 in Presque Isle, Maine as Lynn Elizabeth Beaulieu ) is an American author of fantasy novels and short stories.

In Germany especially her novels about the shadow guild are known.

Life

Flewelling grew up in rural areas of Maine, lived on the East and West Coast of the United States and traveled frequently to Europe. Flewelling studied at the University of Maine, where she also made her degree in English with a minor in history. In addition, she attended college and other courses, such as literature, veterinary medicine, ancient Greek. After several different jobs, including painter, freelance editor, office workers, freelance journalist and teacher ( including in Creative Writing courses ) they took to writing.

She is married to Douglas Flewelling since 1981 and has two sons. Lynn Flewelling lives with her family in East Aurora, New York.

Particularly affected have its letter inter alia Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Mary Renault, Umberto Eco, Stephen King, Peter Straub, Tom Stoppard and Anne Rice.

Shadow guild

The Shadow Guild ( engl. The Night Runner Series) is a series that takes place in a fictional world, including the countries of scale, Mycena and Aurënen belong. The country scale, principal place of action, is ruled by a queen, and can be culturally about the Renaissance in Europe to settle, however, and with woven fantasy elements, such as " Faie " ( a long-lived people, but no elves or elves ), Dragon magic. The protagonists are Seregil, a Faie in exile, and his protégé, friend and lover Alec. These come in the first two volumes of The Wizard Nysander and Seregils friend Micum. In the third volume Micums daughter Beka and the young wizard Thero take supporting roles. Volume 4, Shadows Return, was released in June 2008. Volume 5, The White Road, was released in May 2010.

These books were published in twelve countries, including Japan, Russia, Spain and France.
