Lynn Jenkins

Lynn Jenkins ( born June 10, 1963 in Topeka, Kansas) is an American politician. Since January 2009, it represents the second electoral district of the state of Kansas in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Nancy Jenkins grew up on a dairy farm in Jackson County and attended the public schools of their home. Later she graduated from Kansas State University and in 1985, Weber State University in Ogden (Utah ).

Jenkins was a member of the Republican Party. Between 1999 and 2001 she was a Member of the House of Representatives from Kansas and from 2001 to 2003 she was a member of the State Senate. Between 2003 and 2008 she was Minister of Finance ( Treasurer ) of the State of Kansas. At times, she was president of the Association of Finance Ministers of all U.S. states.

In the congressional elections in 2008 Jenkins was selected in the second district of Kansas in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington. There it began on January 3, 2009 to the succession of Nancy Boyda of the Democratic Party, which had defeated them before. In Congress, she is a member of the Finance Committee and two subcommittees. Her current term of office runs until 3 January 2011.

Lynn Jenkins was married until their divorce in 2009 with Scott Jenkins. From this marriage two children come. Privately, she lives in Topeka.
